 What's New-
a chance to brag, etc.

 Can I have a
little privacy,
please!

I've lived in my downtown loft for nearly 11 years, and in the past couple years development has made privacy a bit difficult. Years ago, the buildings across the street were occupied by a box printer specializing in Healthy Choice containers by the boxcar. The building directly across the street didn't have windows facing my unit so I had plenty of privacy.

Today, that buildling is a busy office with new windows — and employees who think they need to be at work by 6 a.m. and not leave until 10 p.m. Bad deal for them, as I see it, and that means a bad deal for me unless I want them watching my home life. (Ask for my thoughts on The Truman Show sometime.)

Now, at least during daylight hours, I have my privacy back. I installed bus-wrap style screen in my windows so I don't give up light or a view like I would with blinds. Before or after daylight is still another matter, but I'll get something worked out.

The source,
and other views
from my world

The original image, before printing. It's a view from my front
door, looking east, southeast. Many of the office building's
occupants use the parking lot bordered by the trees.

The views below highlight some brilliant dusk scenes we've
enjoyed this year. They reproduce a bit dark here, (it is dusk, after
all) but the prints are a bit less somber. A lot of pointillism, too.
